The website marcdesfosses.com is operated by Marc Desfossés inc and 9351-7811 Québec inc (“we”). We care about protecting your personal information and comply with Law 25 (Québec’s Act to modernize legislative provisions as regards the protection of personal information). This page explains, in plain words, what we collect and what we do with it.
Information we collect
- Contact form: your name, your email address and the content of your message, which you provide voluntarily.
- Traffic statistics: anonymized browsing data (pages viewed, device type, approximate origin) collected by Google Analytics, only if you consent through the cookie banner.
- Technical security data: like most websites, our hosting provider and security tools log IP addresses to prevent abuse (intrusion attempts, spam).
We collect no sensitive information, and there are no user accounts and no online sales on this site.
What we do with it
- Answer your messages — that is the only use of the information submitted through the contact form;
- Understand site traffic in order to improve the content;
- Keep the site secure and running properly.
We never sell, rent or trade your personal information. It is shared only with the technical providers required to operate the site (hosting, audience measurement), who are not allowed to use it for any other purpose.
Cookies
On your first visit, a consent banner lets you accept or decline non-essential cookies. Audience-measurement cookies (Google Analytics) are only set if you accept them; you can withdraw your consent at any time through the banner preferences (icon at the bottom of the page) or by clearing cookies in your browser. The site remains fully functional if you decline.
Retention and security
Messages received through the contact form are kept for as long as needed to follow up on the request, then deleted. Traffic statistics are kept in aggregate form. The site is served over HTTPS and protected by up-to-date security tools.
Your rights
Under Law 25, you may at any time:
- request access to the personal information we hold about you;
- request its correction or deletion;
- withdraw your consent to its use.
Simply write to the person responsible for the protection of personal information: Marc Desfossés, through the site’s contact form. We reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.
Changes
This policy may be updated to reflect changes to the site or to regulations; the update date appears at the top of the page. In the event of a significant change, a notice will be displayed on the site.
